We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson

We Are The Ants Click Here For Book Synopsis

This book....what can I say?
This is a story of grief and love and family and friendship....it's about really understanding our place in the universe and how insignificant we can feel at times.
We follow Henry Denton as the Main Character. He is dealing with the suicide of his boyfriend, his first real love and a whole lot of family problems as well. Henry blames himself for Jesse's suicide and is trying to cope with that. On top of everything else, Henry is abducted by aliens every so often and he is deemed "Space Boy" by the school bully, who, by the Way, Henry is having a fling with.
There are a lot of tough topics in this book. Suicide, mental illness, rape, bullying... Just to name a few. But there is an underlying hope throughout this story that shines through. I really loved this book and the stories that were told throughout. This is my first time reading a book by Shaun David Hutchinson and I will definitely be picking up more.
I felt a personal connection to Henry, and I loved that the author included a good deal of scientific explanation as well!
