(Dissappointing) August 2018 Wrap-Up

I had a shitty reading month in August. I managed to get through 3 books.  First I read: This is a non-fiction about a man's search for information on his biological parents, and stumbles into proof that his father was the notorious Zodiac Killer from Northern California who operated in the 1960's and 1970's.  (4/5 Stars)✮✮✮✮ Next I read: I won this book in a giveaway on Twitter from the author. It is a fast paced fiction in which a man who suffers from a psychotic break, due to the deaths of his wife and daughter, finds himself driving a car that he has no memory of getting into. And worse, there's a girl in the car that he apparently kidnapped, and he has no memory of that either. The girl that's with him starts to help him piece together bits of events that have led up to their current situation. So far I have been able to knock a few emojis off of the Emoji-a-thon TBR that I set for myself. Memorable Recent Reads (July)

I haven't posted in a while, and I apologize. Sometimes life can cause my train of thought to de-rail. Anywho...back on track. Today is August 5, 2018 and since I last posted, I read a total of 11 physical books and listened to 2 audio books.  I am going to discuss the books that have stuck with me. These are either 4 or 5 star reads.  Difficult Women  by Roxane Gay This book caught my attention while watching BookTube. I had seen so many people showing love for this book, and I finally decided to buy it. I was completely blown away! I read this in a course of 2 days (work cuts into my reading time..ugh..) and I couldn't put it down. I would read it while cooking dinner and doing laundry,,,etc. LOL This is a collection of short stories about women who have faced some adversity or have survived abusive relationships or sexual assault or are all around just bad ass bitches.
