I had a shitty reading month in August. I managed to get through 3 books. First I read: This is a non-fiction about a man's search for information on his biological parents, and stumbles into proof that his father was the notorious Zodiac Killer from Northern California who operated in the 1960's and 1970's. (4/5 Stars)✮✮✮✮ Next I read: I won this book in a giveaway on Twitter from the author. It is a fast paced fiction in which a man who suffers from a psychotic break, due to the deaths of his wife and daughter, finds himself driving a car that he has no memory of getting into. And worse, there's a girl in the car that he apparently kidnapped, and he has no memory of that either. He begins to remember little bits here and there but he slips in and out of blackouts. The pair are on the run from a leader of a...
***spoilers*** This book floored me. I read it in one sitting. This is a book that follows Wavy and Kellan and their developing relationship. In the beginning of the story, Wavy is an 8 year old girl who's parents are meth addicts. The don't pay attention to Wavy and when they do, its in an abusive manner. She is made to believe that she is dirty and that anything she puts in her body will become dirty too. She has a little brother named Donal and she tries to keep him from being the focus of her mother's flip outs. One night, Wavy witnesses on of her father's friends wreck his motorcycle and she goes to help him. There begins a relationship of them taking care of each other in a way. This book touches on drug abuse, pedophilia, child abuse, and how the most unlikely of people can be each others saviors. Kellan is much older than Wavy and in the beginning all he wants to do is protect her and take care of her. He makes sure she goes to school...
Born To Love, Cursed To Feel by Samantha King is a debut poetry collection about Love and everything that comes along with it. She writes about being cheated on, left, being in toxic relationships. ..etc. She does touch on the positives of being in a relationship as well. Poetry has always been a love of mine. I have recently just started to dive into some current poets, and I am loving it. Samantha King's writing is very relatable. I have felt similar feelings and being able to connect to someone's feelings while reading their words is something that I enjoy while reading poetry. 5⭐ on Goodreads A little about the Author: http://www.andrewsmcmeel.com/catalog/detail?sku=9781449480950
