Junky by William S Burroughs *Review*

This is a book about a heroin/morphine addict set in the 1950s.
Gave a behind the scenes look at addiction and what it's like to be an addict and homosexual. The ups and downs, the extremes addicts will go to for the next fix.
I gave it a 3/5 stars on Goodreads because the story was a little flat. I was hoping for some grit, and it fell a little flat for me. All in all was a good read. I'd consider reading more from Burroughs.

All The Ugly And Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood (Book Review)

***spoilers*** This book floored me. I read it in one sitting.  This is a book that follows Wavy and Kellan and their developing relationship.  In the beginning of the story, Wavy is an 8 year old girl who's parents are meth addicts. The don't pay attention to Wavy and when they do, its in an abusive manner. She is made to believe that she is dirty and that anything she puts in her body will become dirty too. She has a little brother named Donal and she tries to keep him from being the focus of her mother's flip outs.  One night, Wavy witnesses on of her father's friends wreck his motorcycle and she goes to help him. There begins a relationship of them taking care of each other in a way.  This book touches on drug abuse, pedophilia, child abuse, and how the most unlikely of people can be each others saviors.  Kellan is much older than Wavy and in the beginning all he wants to do is protect her and take care of her. (Dissappointing) August 2018 Wrap-Up

I had a shitty reading month in August. I managed to get through 3 books.  First I read: This is a non-fiction about a man's search for information on his biological parents, and stumbles into proof that his father was the notorious Zodiac Killer from Northern California who operated in the 1960's and 1970's.  (4/5 Stars)✮✮✮✮ Next I read: I won this book in a giveaway on Twitter from the author. It is a fast paced fiction in which a man who suffers from a psychotic break, due to the deaths of his wife and daughter, finds himself driving a car that he has no memory of getting into. And worse, there's a girl in the car that he apparently kidnapped, and he has no memory of that either.
