Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland *review*

This book follows two main characters, Henry and Grace. Henry is a senior in highschool, just appointed to Editor of his school newspaper, when one day, Grace walks into his classroom. She is unkempt, wearing oversized men's clothes and has a pronounced limp. Henry, almost immediately becomes facinated with Grace and when she agrees to be co-editor of the Newspaper at school, Henry gets the opportunity to get to know her. This story is one of teenage love, tragedy, grieving, and how to move on. 4.5/5 stars on Goodreads for me. This is in my top ten favorite books of 2016. Beautifully written, excellent debut Novel!

Book Of The Month December 2016

My Book of the Month subscription box arrived today. Inside is "The Sun is Also a Star" by Nicola Yoon.

Junky by William S Burroughs *Review*

This is a book about a heroin/morphine addict set in the 1950s. Gave a behind the scenes look at addiction and what it's like to be an addict and homosexual. The ups and downs, the extremes addicts will go to for the next fix. I gave it a 3/5 stars on Goodreads because the story was a little flat. I was hoping for some grit, and it fell a little flat for me. All in all was a good read. I'd consider reading more from Burroughs.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo *Review*

Finished this book relatively quickly. The plot is similar to most other YA Fantasy. Girl is an orphan, working as a mapmaker for the Army, and while fighting going through the "Fold" (a dark foggy section of land where flying creatures threaten to snatch and kill those who go thru it.) She suddenly finds out that she has a magical power and is actually a "Grisha". (An elite group of people that have magical abilities.) She is taken to live with and study with other Grisha and The Darkling. (The most powerful Grisha). The story goes on...and basically she finds out a horrible secret and must risk everything to save herself and the land she lives in. I gave this a 4/5 stars on Goodreads. I will continue the series. I liked it, just was exactly what I expected :)
