Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Decided to pick this up. It feels wintery...for whatever reason. I know a little bit about the synopsis, and I'm intrigued. I like fantasy books, but haven't read one in a while. So, I'm diving into this one. I'm excited to discover this world and this series.

100 page "chance" of Night Film

I typically give any book that I read at least 100 pages before deciding to put it down. Night Film was one that I had to put down for now. The story is good, but it's moving along at a snail's pace. So I put it down, and picked up something new.

Night Film by Marisha Pessl

Night Film by Marisha Pessl I am currently reading Night Film. I am on page 106 and frankly, I'm not enjoying it as much as I wanted to. The premise of the book is intriguing, but the author spends too much time with description and unnecessary detail. I'm a fan of being descriptive, but in abundance it can be a bit overwhelming. I'm enjoying the mystery aspect, and the characters, but they don't seem to mesh well with each other. Maybe that's the idea? I don't know. I'm hoping it picks up the pace soon .

Intro to Morbid Bookworming

I'm a 31 year old book enthusiast, bibliophile, book-a-holic...what have you. I'm a single mom, and I have a soft spot in my heart for the darker things in life. The Macabre, creepy, morbid, freaky, occult... etc.... A lot of what I read follows that same theme. Now, not everything, but a good portion of my reading material is weird and/or dark. So that's what you will find here! 💀
