Wrapping up April

 4/5 stars
Beautifully done, would have been 5 stars if not for the insta-love.

I was hoping for something more from this. It is an important topic, but the writing was awful.

 4/5 stars
Second book in the Themis Files series. I love this series so much. Science Fiction done wonderfully!

 4/5 stars
Second in a trilogy. I loved this. This story reminds me of "Home". Acceptance, and risking everything for an opportunity at a better life.

 3/5 stars
I liked that this was so raw, but there was so much sex and sexual references, and vulgar language. It was almost sickening to read at times. I did find his honesty and his strength throughout his childhood commendable.

 4/5 stars
Poetry collection about an HIV positive African American gay man. He writes beautifully and honestly and it is both moving and heartbreaking.

 3/5 stars
I loved the majority of this book. It is YA and follows a girl who wants to be a mortician and becomes obsessed with "Jack The Ripper". I loved that she was into the Macabre and that she wasn't a traditional female in Victorian London. However, the ending and the "twist" was something that I predicted around Chapter 2. The writing was ok, and the story moved at a decent pace, but, I wasn't the least bit surprised by the ending and there was, again, an insta-love situation. So I knocked off 2 stars for those reasons. I may continue with the next book in the series, but I'm not 100% sure yet.
