Updates, November reading, and End of Year reading plans

Image
Its been a hot minute since I've posted here. A lot has happened in my personal life, but we aren't here for that. Let's get to my December TBR, shall we? Winter time usually means Historical Fiction, and Fantasy books for me. November was all over the place and I have been in a slight reading slump. I can't seem to get invested in the books I pick up recently. I participated in 'Non-Fiction November', and started the month off strong, but dwindled as the month progressed. I am currently reading a poetry collection by Lawrence Ferlinghetti called A Coney Island Of The Mind.  and I am going to attempt to begin The Book Thief  by Markus Zuzak as well as Everything I Never Told You  by Celeste Ng. I managed to read 8 things in the month of November. A Children's book- The Wonky Donkey  by Craig Smith, Illustrated by Katz Cowley If I Should Die Before I Wake  by Nolan Han Matchless  by Gregory Maguire Girl, Interrupted  by Susanna Kaysen

Emoji-A-Thon *So Far*

So far I have been able to knock a few emojis off of the Emoji-a-thon TBR that I set for myself. I also changed up some of the books because I acquired some new things that I really wanted to get to! -Read a book set in winter: The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin -A book that takes place outdoors: The Mountain Between Us by Charles Martin - A book that takes place somewhere other than where you live: Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov -A five star predicted book: Sadie by Courtney Summers (ended up with a 3.5/5) -A book you've been seeing everywhere: I used Sadie by Courtney Summers for this also. - A book with your favorite color on the cover: Currently Reading: The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Ectoplasmic Man  by Daniel Stashower (Black and Teal are 2 of my favorite colors) - A book by a favorite author: Using The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Ectoplasmic Man by Daniel Stashower for this as well. Freebie: Read anything yo

Just Finished and Currently Reading

I have just finished a book this morning and I didn't want to go back and throw it into my August wrap up post, so, here it is! Lady Killers: Deadly Women Throughout History  by Tori Tefler This is a non fiction collection of stories about various female serial killers throughout history. The range from her in the USA to Egypt and Russia. Tori Tefler examines the myth that men are the only ones given the title of "Serial Killer", and that women are often times excused from their crimes because certainly women are "weak-minded" and they are only capable of "killings of passion". WRONG-O! The women in this book are sadistic, they are cold, they are deranged and they can do just as much damage (if not more) than their male counterparts.  I gave this a 3/5 Stars because most of the stories involved some sort of use of their sexual prowess to lure these unsuspecting men into their lives, and then poisoning them and collecting their money.
