The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon

I recently finished The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. I read this book rather quickly, considering that I don't read many contemporary or romance forward books.

This story takes place over the span of One day. It follows our main characters:

Natasha: A seventeen year old girl who's family are undocumented immigrants from Jamaica and facing deportation.

Daniel: A boy who is Korean-American who wants to be a poet, but his parents are trying to force him to go to medical school.

The two cross paths at a pivotal point in each other's lives. They spend the day together, and of course there's some "insta-love" ...(which I hate and is one reason I don't read books with a heavy romance in the plot).
Natasha is trying to figure out a way to stay in the country, and Daniel is trying to figure out a way to stand up to his parents.
The ending was not what I would've typically thought would happen, which was refreshing.

I gave this 4/5 stars on Goodreads.
