The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (Book Review)

Image
A story of Faeries, betrayel, self-discovery...its a beautifully written first book in a new YA Fantasy series by Holly Black. No one does YA Dark Fairy Tales quite like Holly Black. This tells the story of Jude. She and her twin sister Taryn have been taken back to Faerieland by Madoc, the man who murdered their mother. The girls are then raised in Faerie alongside Madoc's son Oak. Madoc and his wife live in Faerie and Madoc is in service to the High King of Elfhame. The High King is on the verge of passing the crown to one of his sons when all sorts of events begin to happen, secrets are revealed and loyalties are tested. This story has a little of everything. Magic, betrayal, mystery...etc. I gave this a 4/5 stars and will continue with the series.

Rest In Peace Stephen Hawking 😞

I am writing this with a heavy heart. The physics community has taken a huge loss. Professor Stephen Hawking died this morning at age 76. He is a personal hero and inspiration. He will be greatly missed. Fly among the cosmos sir. 1942-3018

ARC of The Wolf by Leo Carew

Image
I received and ARC of The Wolf  by Leo Carew for an honest review. This is the first book in an adult epic fantasy series with some "Game of Thrones" vibes. There are "Northerners" and "Southerners" and a centuries-old war between the two. This is political and fantastical, and I can't wait to read it.  Releases on April 18, 2018
